Your not going to believe what I read, and I want to share this with you, Pay per view Funerals, funerals go live through web-cast on line in Britian, family members and mourners who cannot make the funeral are given a password to log in and view the body through a web cam, a live broadcast of the church service is also included in the one time price of $150.00. The password would only be given to family members to distribute to whom they wish to.
Families in Australia and Canada has already used this system.
Families were absolutely delighted to use this system, when it became impossible for them to make the trip.
Now i heard it all, I would never had expected something like the final death to be touched by technology in that way. Maybe better ways to decompose our bodies, instant embalming something like that but not pay per view funerals...can you imagine this could be the new way to pay for funerals if you look at it in another perpective.
Elvis would have made another million for a pay per view.
Cheers

Education and Technology
Today i don't think we have a choice but to embrace and learn how our technology works, my daughter is 6 yrs old and goes on club penguin, she has pets on line and knows how to log in and type her log in name and password. We keep things simple for her but she has a favorite list on the computer with all her favorite sites she like to visit and watch video's. She has an MP3 player and plugs it into her stereo and plays the music on speakers in her room. It amazes me the things she is capable of doing when it comes to this stuff, we only show her once or twice and then she does it all on her own. If she could spell more words I'm sure she would be doing alot more. This is just an example of where our children are in this tech world are going and can you imagine the possibilities of what they're going to be able to accomplish as young adults.

Technology, The Kindle and lack of using paper.
Being in this course has shown me some wonderful things about technology and what is coming or should i say what is here, I talked to my daughter about the kindle and she found this very useful, her first comment was the price of books could go down because they would no longer need to print the books in the future. A paperless world, probably sounds like it's pretty far away but i'm probably going to live to see that day, especially if they are currently holding paperless meetings...and only in Quebec City which shows it's not that very far away. A paperless world, is it possible we already really don't need the use of paper money...were so used to the debit card.
Our world could consists of plastic cards for money and our phones for information and a chip embedded in our skin so there would be no more lost people, especially our children, sounds like were almost there.
Cheers

Finding time to blog
Where do I find the time to blog, I now have added a new favorite to the list of things to check and do, I check e-bay to weather, banking, and last but not least facebook. Msn isn't what it used to be it used to be stressing to talk to everyone at once and watch conversations so you don't type the wrong thing on the wrong window.
Facebook is more relaxed doing things on your time, making groups and inviting people to share and support things you are interested in. Sharing pictures of your children, vacations and events in your life without carrying around that envelope with stacks of pictures and negatives..for people who didn't buy those little books to put pictures in.
Technology allows us to have more access into the lives of our friends and family and complete strangers if we want.

My Name is Trina this is my first entry in the world of blogs... is "blog" the new adjective, i blog, he blogs, she blogs....lol. I am not making fun of the word it's just I have a feeling this is going to become a habit, sort of like facebook is now.I will be adding the new word to my vocabulary.Let me begin ...I am taking the B.Ed course through UNB since the summer of 2007, the reason I am blogging...I don't even know if there is such a word. I am taking a technology course as part of my B.eD.I have 5 children ...who are wonderful....when their sleeping..lol.I currently work as an Assistant Director at a daycare, I have four daughters and one son, I am a basketball mom of my son. Currently the team is undefeated 14-0....wooo hooo.My children range in ages between 22-6 years of age, I work everyday I go to school two nights a week and I attend quilting classes with my mom one night a week. I Love to quilt. In my experience with technology, not that long ago I struggled with learning in an non traditional manner, through video web cam. This took time to learn how to learn in a manner I was not used to, I mean I watched movies on the computer, used the web cam to talk to my kids when I was away at workshops. But to sit in a classroom setting, and not be able to converse, react or comment in the traditional classroom setting was unusual ...I wasn't even sure I would learn anything....lol.I know the difference now because I was patient and I gave it sometime, just like everything else I just needed time.I am a Digital Immigrant and I am ok with that, I liked playing in the fields, climbing trees, making forts, playing hopscotch and jump rope in the road, cutting out paperdolls with the sears catalog.I thought the first remote control was the best thing and it was only one button to turn off the Tv. I liked playing with the rabbit ears, using tin foil to find a clear channel. Chasing the ice cream truck, playing at the park and forgetting my favorite doll on the park bench, just to go back and find her all chewed up by the dogs :(I love my computer and everything it has to offer... my friends live in there. This was my first "blog" so be sympathetic when commenting. Thanks a Bunch Trina
